I-55 (Stevenson Expressway): I-94 (Dan Ryan Expressway) to US 41 (Lake Shore Drive) Inbound Bridges

- The scope consists of reconstruction and widening of the inbound bridge structures of I-55 (Stevenson Expressway) & US 41 (Lake Shore Drive).
- The project includes the construction of three (3) new bridges and three (3) new mechanically stabilized earth retaining walls, lighting & roadway reconstruction.
- The project includes a lane addition along the ramp from NB I-55 to SB Lake Shore Drive, removal and replacement of the ramp from NB I-55 to NB Lake Shore Drive, and reconstruction and widening of the NB I-55 structure.
- The project consists of PCC pavement (jointed), PCC shoulders & sidewalk, 24” water main relocation, storm sewer, and curb & gutter.
- The bridges and retaining walls include the removal of three (3) existing structures, drilled shaft in soil & rock, concrete abutments, lightweight concrete fill, and bridge deck and parapets.
- The project includes non-special waste disposal, polyuria pavement marking, erosion control, embankment, overhead sign structure-span, luminaires, and installation of aluminum light poles.
